Final Civilian Evacuation Ship Prepares to Depart Kherson

According to the Russian-occupied Kherson city administration, all bridge crossings over the Dnieper River have been suspended for civilian traffic. Now civilians can only depart via water transport from the city. The message reads below:

“In connection with the completion of evacuation measures from the territory of the right bank of the Dnieper, as well as the increased military danger and increased threats to the civilian population, the administration of the Kherson region decided to temporarily stop the movement of civilian vehicles across the Dnieper. The temporary ban applies to river taxis, barges and other water vessels. The pontoon crossing also stops its work,” the administration’s Telegram channel said.

“The movement of civilian vehicles from the right to the left bank of the Dnieper will continue and will be carried out in the same way as before – through the Rechport, which is located at the address: Odessa Square, 4. You can go to the left bank of the Dnieper from there by water transport, as well as cross by private car by means of a barge,” the report says.

The below video shows civilians lining up for water transport in Kherson, where sources on the ground are claiming this would be the last water taxi.

The bridges are still open to utilities vehicles that are attempting to restore power to the city after “sabotage” reportedly caused rolling blackouts throughout the oblast. Russian-appointed Kherson administration Stremousov says the front lines have not changed and Russian forces still maintain control of the city.
