U.S. Navy T-6 Trainer Crashes, Gateswood, AL

At approximately 1200 EST, reports began to emerge of a small plane crash outside of Gateswood, Alabama. By 1300 EST, the crash was confirmed off of Country Rd. 87 near the intersection with Allen Rd. The aircraft crashed in the tree line and did not impact residential structures.

Both pilots ejected, survived, and are being treated for minor wounds. No cause of the crash has been determined or released as of this publication. The U.S. Navy maintains an outlying field, named Barin, near Summersdale, AL for their trainer aircraft to practice maneuvers.
