U.S. Defense Secretary Underwent Prostatectomy on December 22nd, Remains Hospitalized Since January 1st

Update (1451 EST): According to FOX News, the Biden Administration has launched a review of cabinet protocols for delegating authority in the midst of today’s revelations.

The Biden Administration has been racked by accusations of incompetence by the reported ignorance on Defense Secretary Austin’s incapacitation on December 22nd, 2023 and January 1st, 2024 in which he transferred power to his deputy.

The White House was reportedly not aware of the secretary’s whereabouts and his “elective surgery” was not disclosed to Congress or the press until almost three days after the initial appointment. While the secretary was under anesthetics during his December appointment, powers were transferred to his deputy, such as top secret communications capability. He was discharged on December 23rd, 2023 with no complications. However, the controversy arose after the January 1st, 2024 hospitalization in which the Pentagon did not alert the White House until January 5th, 2024.

He was released from the ICU on January 5th and has since held phone calls with the commander of USCENTCOM and U.S. National Security Advisor Sullivan.

The Secretary’s office has now confirmed Mr. Austin was undergoing a prostatectomy for earlier identified prostate cancer and that the prognosis was “excellent.” The announcement reads below:

This announcement comes almost simultaneously as four U.S. House of Representative members sent a letter to President Biden demanding that Secretary Austin resign. That letter reads below:
