At 1234 EST, the U.S. Senate began deliberation on the 40B USD aid package for the Ukrainian armed forces in their current fight against the Russian Federation Invasion of February 24th, 2022. Last night, the Senate voted 88-11 to advance the bill to a vote with 11 GOP Senators voting no.

Moments ago the U.S. Senate announced it passed the 40B USD aid package with a vote count of 86-11. The Senators that voted no were Blackburn, Boozman, Braun, Crapo, Hagerty, Hawley, Lee, Lummis, Marshall, Paul, and Tuberville. Abstained Senators were Rosen and Van Hollen. The “no” camp, led by Senator Paul, cited extreme inflation and burgeoning American debt as the primary reason why they voted no.

U.S. President Biden is expected to sign the package within the hour.
