Passenger Bus Carrying Civilians Destroyed by IED, Burkina Faso

At approximately 1400 EST, a passenger bus carrying several dozen civilians struck an IED while part of a larger convoy near Djibo, Burkino Faso.

The blast killed at least 35 and injured 37 who were transported to a nearby hospital in Ouagadougou. It is currently unclear who was responsible for the bombing, but government forces have secured the perimeter and are conducting an investigation. The government statement reads below:
