ATF, SWAT, Significant D.C. Police Presence After Heavy Gunfire in NW D.C.

Update: D.C. Police released these pictures allegedly showing the firearms used by Spencer in yesterday’s shooting. Spencer apparently took his own life when police stormed his NW DC apartment late yesterday afternoon.

Update: the following video was uploaded by the shooter, you can clearly see him targeting people, so far 3 individuals are in stable condition.

Update: One person has been detained by police and was brought away in handcuffs.

Update: The Secret Service is assisting in clearing the area as well, and has announced none of their personnel or protectees are in danger.

Update: Reporters on the ground are saying two individuals may be shot.

Update: UDC-Van Ness and American Military University Campuses are on lockdown and D.C. metro police have issued a shelter-in-place order for the surrounding neighborhoods to the intersection.

Several law enforcement agencies have responded to reports of heavy gunfire at an apartment building at the intersection of Van Ness Street NW and Connecticut Avenue in NW D.C.

It is not clear at this time if law enforcement officers have engaged a suspect.
