UPDATE: USAID Worker, Stephen Troell Killed in Failed Kidnapping, Baghdad


Iraqi Pro-Militia sources are claiming that Stephen Troell, a USAID worker was killed after armed kidnappers attempted to take him from his Baghdad apartment. His body was reportedly removed from the apartment. However, other sources have told Reuters that he was killed in his SUV. That source claims he was traveling on al-Sinaa street with his wife when the gunman attempted the kidnapping, but shot him after an altercation.

A police source said the victim was carrying an identity card showing his job was an English teacher. One source has claimed he is a member of Doctors Without Borders, while another has claimed he is a member of USAID.
