Iraqi PM Officially Requests End of UN Mission to Iraq by 2025

Iraqi prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani has formally requested to end the United Nations mission to Iraq (UNAMI) by December 2025, stating that "after more than 20 years since the democratic transition and overcoming numerous significant challenges, the justifications for having a political mission in Iraq are no longer valid."
