Protesters Storm Indonesia’s Parliament Building During Protests Against Election Law

On August 22nd, thousands of protesters staged protests throughout Indonesia in response to proposed changes to the country's regional elections law. The amendments will change the minimum age for individuals to stand in regional elections to 30 at the time of inauguration. The changes would also reinstate thresholds to allow candidates to run in the regional elections.
