North Korea Launches Missile, Overflies Japan

At approximately 1830 EST, South Korean and Japanese military officials announced North Korea had launched a projectile.

Residents in Aomori Prefecture were immediately ordered to shelter as the missile was projected to hit Japan, however, the missile overflew Japan and landed in the sea. This is developing.

The last launch was September 30th in which two short range ballistic missiles were fired. This is the 20th launch day of 2022 for a total of 39 projectiles ranging from submarine launch and train launched ballistic missiles, to cruise missiles, to reported hypersonics to ICBMs. The last DPRK missile test to overfly Japan was September 15,2017.
