After roughly an hour, the IDF has lifted shelter orders and indicated that there is no immediate threat of continued strikes by Iran as Israeli airspace reopens. The attack appears to have consisted of two waves involving at least 180 ballistic missiles with impacts reported in Tel Aviv, as well as against Israeli military infrastructure in the Negev, such as the Nevatim Airbase.
Exact targets and extent of damage remain unclear. The only reported casualty at this time is a Palestinian man being killed by falling missile debris in the West Bank, though this number is extremely preliminary. The IRGC released a statement saying that the attack is in retaliation for the killings of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC Deputy Commander Abbas Nilforoushan.
A gunmen attack on Jaffa also preceded the missile barrage, leaving at least six dead and multiple wounded. The IDF states both attackers were killed.
