Mali Cuts Diplomatic Ties with Ukraine

Mali has severed diplomatic relations with Ukraine for its "support for terrorism in Africa," the Malian government announced today. The break in relations comes as the result of Ukraine's alleged support of Mali's Tuareg rebels–who conducted a devastating assault on Malian and Russian forces last week–with the spokesperson for Ukraine's military intelligence claiming in the aftermath of the attack that "the rebels received the necessary information, which enabled a successful military operation against Russian war criminals."
