Boeing Grounds 777X Test Fleet After Cracks Found in Critical Engine Mount

Boeing has grounded its 777X test fleet following the discovery of cracks in a critical engine mounting structure. The issue was first identified during a routine post-flight inspection of the third 777-9 test aircraft, designated WH003, after a five-hour flight from Kona Airport in Hawaii on August 16. Similar cracks were subsequently found on Boeing's other two active test aircraft, leading to the suspension of all test flights for the new twin-engine jetliner.
