At approximately 0850 EST, initial reports indicated that an active shooter situation was underway at Perry High School in Perry Iowa. By 0945 EST, eyewitnesses reports indicated that the shooter was “down”. Law enforcement reported multiple lifeflights landing on the school grounds and parents were urged to meet at a coordination area away from the school.

By 0950 EST, authorities reported that two had been killed, ten had been injured. A shelter-in-place order has been issued for Perry Middle School. There have been no reported injuries at nearby Perry Elementary School which is also on the grounds of the high school. Multiple high schools in the area remain on lockdown.
