7.3 Magntidue Earthquake, Solomon Islands, US.

A tsunami warning has been issued moments ago after a 7.3 magnitude earthquake was registered by the United States Geological Survey. The epicenter has been located 58km southwest of Honiara at a depth of 10km. Several dozen users have already reported severe shaking.

The last major earthquake near the Solomon Islands was on April 1st, 2007 which registered at 8.1 and killed 112 people through the immediate collapse of structures and a tsunami.

The Australian and Filipino governments have confirmed there is no tsunami threat to their coastal areas, however, we will update you if there are major changes.
