Tigray Capitol Regains Power

In the wake of Ethiopia’s civil war coming to a close, the Tigray regions Capitol city, Mekelle, has officially been joined back to Ethiopia’s main power grid and now has electricity again. The city had been without power since June 28th of 2021, well over a year.

Tigray’s electricity in general has been very limited since war began two years ago. Now that it is over, the Federal government says it is committed to re-establishing basic services that hundreds of thousands have had to live without.
