Russian authorities have announced that they intend to build a protective dome over the spent nuclear waste storage facility at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
They claim that this proposed protective dome will keep the nuclear waste from being struck by ordnance or shrapnel flying around from the surrounding war.
Also, the International Atomic Energy Agency announced after their recent assessment of the plant that, “The plant continues to receive the electricity it needs for essential safety and security functions”.
