Turkish Vessel Struck by Missile in Kherson Port

The Turkish cargo ship “Tuzla” was struck by an apparent Russian missile while in port in the Ukrainian city of Kherson on Tuesday. The vessel, which is operated by Cayeli Shipping, reportedly received extensive damage to her bridge due to a fire caused by the blast, but there were no reports of casualties. The vessel has been stuck in port since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022 and has not left since it is not part of the grain deal that allows for vessel passage in the Black Sea.

Note: Photos from a Turkish ship that was damaged last year off the coast of Odessa have been falsely shared in relation to this incident.
