News Crew, Child, and Mother Shot in Orlando

According to Orange County Sheriffs Department, a suspect shot a woman this morning, then returned to the scene in the afternoon, shooting two members of a news crew covering the scene, before then entering a nearby home and shooting a mother and her daughter, leaving three dead and two in critical condition.

According to Sheriff John Mina, news crews were at the scene reporting on a homicide from earlier in the day when at least one suspect opened fire. Both of those shot were employees of the Orlando, Florida-based news company Spectrum News 13, one being a reporter and the other being a photographer. The shooting took place on Hialeah Street in the Orlando suburb of Pine Hills sometime before 4:05 PM local time.

Shortly after shooting the news crew, the suspect entered a home on nearby Harrington Street and shot a woman and her 9 year old daughter. All victims were transported to the hospital, where one of the news crew, and the 9 year old girl, succumbed to their injuries.

The initial homicide was that of a woman in her 20s shot and killed sometime just before 11 AM local time.

Police have apprehended 19 year old Keith Melvin Moses on the shooting of the young woman in the morning. He is expected to face additional charges for the shootings of the four others during the afternoon and is reported as having a long list of previous violent charges. According to Sheriff Mina, his motivations are not yet known.
