The General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly has voted to approve Finland’s ascension to NATO. This means all 30 NATO countries have reached unanimous consent in approving Finland’s NATO ascension. Finland will now become the 31st member of NATO and the 4th member that possesses a land border with the Russian Federation. Russian leadership has said for months that Finland’s ascension to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization would result in additional deployment of Russian weapons, including nuclear, to the Russian/Finish border.
