At Least Five Dead in Louisville Mass Shooting

At least five people were killed and six others were wounded, including a police officer, during an active shooter incident in downtown Louisville, Kentucky.

The incident began when a lone gunman entered the Old National Bank and opened fire. According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, emergency calls were received at 8:30 am local time and that responding officers “were on scene in minutes.”

The suspect, who remains unidentified, is confirmed dead, however, Deputy Chief Paul Humphrey told reporters that it is still unknown whether or not they were killed by officers or themself.

A motive remains unknown at this time.
