CENTCOM: Rocket Attack Against US Forces at Conoco Oil Field in Syria

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed that a single rocket was fired at American forces at the Conoco oil field in Dier Ezzor, Syria, however, no casualties or damage was reported. While CENTCOM did not say who carried out the strike, it was likely Iran-backed militia forces who regularly carry out similar attacks.

This comes amid increased tit for tat clashes between American and Iranian proxy forces in Syria over the past several weeks. An attack in late March on a Coalition base near Hasakah left one American contractor dead and five soldiers wounded, which sparked retaliatory strikes by American warplanes.
