Third Night of Russian Strikes on Odesa

Updated on

Earlier on the night of the 19th, the Ukrainian port city of Odesa was struck for the third consecutive day in a row by Russian cruise missiles, causing injuries to residents and damage to buildings ranging in purpose, according to local reports. A fire was also reported, similar to the night before, as well as general damage to cars. This came after Russia recently stopped agreeing to the terms of a grain deal that allowed the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea, a decision that will likely lead to food shortages globally as it did before when grain was stopped. Russia also warned on Wednesday that it would consider any ships going to Ukrainian ports military targets, as they, in their opinion, could be carrying military cargo. They have also accused Ukraine of deploying naval and aerial drones, such as those that have attacked Kerch and Sevastopol, from Odesa. Although these recent strikes largely seem to have caused damage to non-military targets.
