China’s military command has undergone some change the day before the 96th anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) creation. Xi has announced that the new chief of the PLA’s Rocket Force will be Wang Houbin. Wang had previously been with the navy, serving as deputy commander of the navy since 2020, and deputy chief of staff of the navy prior.
This replacement has come after a supposed corruption scandal. As of right now there is no announcement to the movement of the previous Chief of the PLA Rocket Force or any other changes to PLA command.
