Azerbaijan Demands Armenian Withdrawal from NK, Russia Calls for Ceasefire

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called for the immediate withdrawal of all Armenian troops from Nagorno Karabakh. The announcement reads below:

“The only way to achieve peace and stability in the region is the unconditional and complete withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan and the release of the so-called regime.” Azerbaijani Defense Minister Hasanov has reportedly been in talks with Turkish Defense Minister Guler. The description of the call reads below:

“On September 19, there was a telephone conversation between the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, and the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Yashar Güler.

Colonel-General Z. Hasanov informed his colleague about the local anti-terrorist measures in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.

Mr. Y. Guler said that Turkey stands by Azerbaijan today as always.”

Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry, through Spokesperson Zakharova called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, with the resolve that Russian peacekeepers would maintain their positions.

The Self-Declared Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Ministry announced that Azerbaijani Armed Forces violated the ceasefire agreement by preemptively firing MLRS, precision-guided munitions, and drones at Armenian positions.
