China and Vietnam prepare for Xi visit to Hanoi

Earlier in September President Biden visited Vietnam in what is assumed to be an attempt to curb Chinese influence in the region. Now, Xi Jinping has planned a visit in late October to try and fight American influence in the region.

Although it is not certain whether Xi will end up going on the trip himself, 3-4 unnamed officials close to the matter said it is likely he will visit. The goal of the visit is to increase cooperation between Vietnam and China due to the countries strategic importance for China’s power in the region.

The visit has not been announced by any official state media as there will likely be more to come.
