IDF Launches Airstrikes in Jenin, West Bank. Raid Likely Imminent

The IDF has launched an airstrike which has hit a mosque in the city of Jenin, in the West Bank. The strike has reportedly caused at least 2 fatalities, and injured several others.

According to Palestinian sources, IDF troops have begun to gather outside of Jenin, likely in preparation for a raid on militant targets within the city.

Notably, while raids and clashes between the IDF and West Bank militant groups are common, this is the first airstrike the IDF has launched in the West Bank since the beginning of the present war between Israel and Gaza on October 7th, known to Palestinian groups as the “Al-Aqsa Flood”. Even prior to the war, airstrikes within the West Bank were rare.
