The Israel Defense Forces reported the death of the Head of Shati Battalion, Haitham Hawajri, in the heavily contested Shati Camp area of Gaza City. The IDF stated that under the direction of the Shin Bet and military intelligence, they bombed Hawajri's position using a manned aircraft.
