Iranian MP Asserts that Recently Killed IRGC General was Involved in Oct. 7 Attacks Against Israel

Iranian MP Mojtaba Tavangar claimed that recent killed IRGC General Razi al-Moussavi was involved in the organization of the October 7 Hamas attacks against Israel, in a post made to X on Monday.

“Martyr Seyed Reza played an important role in the sustainable strengthening of the infrastructure of the resistance front in Syria, and it can be safely said that he was one of the organizers of the Al-Aqsa storm,” Tuwanger claimed, adding that “His assassination was a joint project of the Mossad and CIA spy services. The ruling regime seeks change because it does not envision an achievement in Gaza.”

Moussavi, a key figure in the IRGC’s Quds Force in Syria, was killed on December 25 during an Israeli airstrike in Damascus. He was previously sanctioned by the United States for his role in providing financial and material support to Hezbollah and other Iranian-backed proxy forces. Moussavi was also one of the closest commanders to Qassam Soleimani before his death in 2020 by an American drone strike.
