EAC Urges Restraint Amidst Heightened Rwanda-Burundi Tensions

The East African Community (EAC) has released a statement urging Partner States to "restrain" themselves and solve any disputes through "the existing EAC Dispute Resolution Mechanism" in a peaceful manner. The statement, though it did not name any specific nations, comes one day after Burundi closed it's border with Rwanda, suspended relations with them, and also made efforts to deport Rwandan nationals within the nation.
