U.S. Biosecurity Act Included Two Chinese Biotech Companies

This past Thursday, January 25th, a bill proposed by the United States Congress named 2 Chinese biotech companies.

Both companies specialize in gene sequencing and expression, and similar experiments further stating that their technologies or samples do not fall under the restrictions mentioned in the proposed bill.

MGItech, an upstream equipment provider, claimed its business does not collect or store data or have access to data in any shape, also stating that “customers themselves collect, store, process, and control the data themselves.”

GemPharmatech also stated that it has no hand in viewing or accessing data collected involving human genome sequences.
