United States strike options against Iran in retaliation to Sunday’s militia drone attack in Jordan, which left three American soldiers dead, include “Iranian personnel in Syria or Iraq or Iranian naval assets in the Persian Gulf,” Politico reported, citing officials.
While strikes against facilities used by the IRGC in Iraq and Syria are self explanatory, a naval asset of interest could be the M/V Behshad, an Iranian spy vessel currently located off the coast of Yemen. The Behshad is speculated to have been providing intelligence to the Houthis and other Iran-backed forces in the region.
