Marine Corps Helicopter Missing in Southern California

The Marine Corps is searching for a helicopter that went missing last night while en route to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

Five Marines were on board a CH-53E Super Stallion from Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361 (HMH-361) “Flying Tigers” when it departed from Creech Air Force Base in Nevada.

3rd Marine Air Wing is being assisted in its search effort by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and the Civil Air Patrol.
