Yesterday, reports came in that the Karen National Liberation Army, aided by the People’s Defense Force, successfully captured the junta’s Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 355 camp a few days ago.
This base is important, as it protects the entrance to the Dawna Mountains in Eastern Myanmar and also lies on the junction of the Asia Highway close to Thin Gan Nyi Naung, Karen State.
Further reports suggest small arms fire and artillery are allegedly being heard at LIB camps 356 and 357, located in the vicinity of the junction.
