Biden Secures Democratic Nomination, Setting Stage for an Election Rematch

President Joe Biden won enough delegates to secure his nomination for president of the United States as an incumbent in the 2024 election where he will face off again against former President Donald Trump who was nominated by Republican delegates as well today. Neither faced a real challenge in their party line, with other candidates conceding their races.

Only 38% of U.S. adults approve of Biden’ job in office, while 61% disapprove, according to a recent survey by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. According to the same survey 63% of Americans say they aren’t confident in Biden’s mental capabilities to serve effectively as president, 57% saying similarly they doubt Trump’s memory and acuity for the job.
