Trump Vows to Free Jan. 6 Prisoners if Re-elected

Former President Donald Trump posted on the Truth Social platform, outlining his plans to free all individuals wrongfully convicted for their involvement in the January 6 riots. Emphasizing that this, along with closing the border, will be among his initial actions upon assuming the presidency again.

“My first acts as your next President will be to close the border, drill, baby, drill, and free the January 6 hostages who are wrongfully imprisoned,” Trump stated on the evening of March 11th.

This marks the first instance in which the former president has designated this act as one of his top priorities if re-elected. To date, just under 500 people have been sentenced, with over 950 successful convictions resulting from the investigation into the January 6 incident.
