Explosion at FBI Training Facility, 16 Injured

On March 13, CBS News reported that 16 people were injured due to an explosion at an FBI training facility in Irvine, California. 

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) said that 13 of the injuries were caused by the noise of the blast. Due to the explosion, two people were dealt injuries to their legs, and one suffered a back injury. 

15 of the victims were transported to a nearby hospital, while one person took themselves to a hospital.

The incident occurred during a joint exercise between the OCSD Bomb Squad and Swat teams. 

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has opened an investigation into the cause of the explosion.
