On March 18, Reuters reported that Tunisia and Libya closed a major border crossing at Ras Jdir, due to clashes between security forces and armed bandits.
Libya’s Interior Ministry announced that “This action carried out by these outlaw groups will not be tolerated, legal measures and the most severe penalties will be taken against those involved”.
According to Reuters, this border crossing is the main crossing point between Libya and Tunisia and has a large amount of traffic from both nations.
