Local media immediately picked up on the developments and claimed that the explosions were from U.S. aircraft directed at al-Bukamal on the border with Iraq..Syria TV reported:."The air strikes on the city of Al-Bokmal, eastern #Diralzor, targeted a security meeting of Iranian militiasPreliminary information points to the killing of two prominent leaders in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in raids targeting the city of Bouqmal.".By 1938 EST local media claimed that IRGC-affiliate commander of the al-Bukamal region, Hajj Asker was killed in the U.S. airstrike. Asker is the nom De guerre of a significant IRGC officer that leads Brigade 47 ofKata'ib Hezbollah and has significant command in the Bukamal region. This has not been confirmed by US sources as of this post.
