Vice Chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT), Andrew Hsia, will travel to the United States from April 4th until April 15th for a tabletop exercise hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS)..Yang Chih-yu, a KMT spokesperson, said Hsia and Alexander C. Huang, Director of Foreign Affairs, received an invitation to the U.S.-Japan-Taiwan Track 2 tabletop exercises..Hsia will also meet with Taiwanese communities in San Francisco and Washington D.C. He also stated that he's received many invitations from think tanks and government agencies for discussions..Yang mentioned that Hsia's trip is the first since the 2024 presidential and legislative elections. He additionally said that the invitations Hsia received indicate the "friendly and stable" relations between the U.S. and the KMT since the founding for a representative office in Washington D.C. in 2022..The visit also has the purpose of conveying the KMT's diplomatic plans of pro-U.S. relations, good ties with Japan, and pursuing peace with China.
