During a Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Parliamentary Assembly meeting in Almaty, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced that Kazakhstan has removed the Taliban from its terror list.."Kazakhstan removed the Taliban regime from the terrorist list, based on the importance of developing trade and economic cooperation with modern Afghanistan and the understanding that this regime is a long-term factor," Tokayev stated..He also went on to add that Kazakhstan seeks "to create a UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty.".The decision comes as Russia reportedly weighs its options to do the same.
