State Department Approves $300 Million Loitering Munition Sale to Taiwan

The United States State Department has approved a possible foreign military sale of Altius 600M-V Unmanned Aerial Vehicles to Taiwan, worth an estimated $300 million.

Altius-series drones are made by Anduril and can be outfitted with an array of payloads for various mission sets, such as ISR&T, kinetic engagement, RF decoy, SIGINT, comms relay and cyber warfare.

The sale approval comes just one week after INDOPACOM Commander Samuel Paparo stated that the US plans to make the Taiwan Strait into a “hellscape” of drone swarms to counter Chinese forces in the event of an invasion.
