Shandong Aircraft Carrier Spotted off the Philippines Island of Luzon

On June 30th, the PLAN Shandong Aircraft carrier was reportedly spotted roughly "200 nautical miles" (370 kilometers) northwest of the Philippine island of Luzon. The Shandong carrier is currently heading east towards the Bashi Channel. Last week, the European satellite Sentinel-2 detected the Shandong aircraft carrier departing from Sanya, Hainan Province. This is the newest sighting of PLAN activity since four PLAN warships sailed through the Balabac Strait. The Philippine Defense Ministry has not yet commented on the satellite image.
