United States Air Force to Participate in Exercise Pitch Black 2024

The United States will participate in the upcoming Exercise Pitch Black 2024, held at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Darwin and Base Tindal, Australia, from July 12th-August 2nd, 2024.

This year’s exercise will be the biggest in 43 years, featuring 20 nations, over 140 aircraft, and over 4,435 personnel. The United States Air Force will also bring six F-22A Raptors for the first time.

Other nations participating include Australia, Brunei, Canada, Fiji, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Singapore, Spain, South Korea, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and the United Kingdom.

The Black Pitch exercise began in 1981 and is solely held in Australia. The exercise focuses on strengthening partnerships, increasing interoperability, and increasing combat readiness.
