IDF Strikes Syrian Military Infrastructure, Golan Heights

According to the Israeli Defense Forces, structures erected by Syrian government forces in the Golan Heights were engaged this morning due to their violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. The announcement reads below:

The last similar incident occurred in September 2023 when IDF tanks engaged two observation posts erected by Syrian government forces, which resulted in the deaths of two men on a motorcycle. The Syrian government made no statement during that incident and as of this publication has made no comment on today’s incident.

The Agreement on Disengagement is between Israel and Syria that was signed on May 31, 1974, which officially ended the Yom Kippur War and the subsequent attrition period on the Syrian front.
