New People’s Army Rebel Killed in Clash By Philippine Forces in Masbate City

On July 10th, a rebel from the New People's Army (NPA) was killed in Masbate City, Masbate Province, by Philippine forces. The 9th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army Spokesperson, Major Frank Roldan, stated that the NPA member and 14 other guerillas engaged with the 96th Infantry Battalion in Barangay Igang at approximately 8:00 a.m. local time for roughly 10 minutes.
