Large Earthquake Shakes Northern Chile

A 7.3-magnitude earthquake shook a large swathe of northern Chile on Thursday at 9:51 p.m. local time, according to the nation's National Disaster Prevention and Response Service. Currently, no damages have been reported; however, officials are currently assessing damages to "people, alteration to basic services, or infrastructure" caused by the earthquake. The entirety of the Antofagasta region alongside neighboring municipalities in other neighboring regions have been affected by the earthquake.
