At approximately 0900 EST, initial reports emerged that severe flooding had impacted the Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The base Facebook page made this announcement:."Due to the severe weather affecting transportation routes on Osan AB, please don't attempt to drive through roads submerged in water. Continue to avoid [Loring Road and South Perimeter Rd] areas due to remaining flooding.".US servicemembers on the base published a number of photos to social media showcasing the flooding outside of hangar areas..However, it was the photos from inside the hangars that raised the most alarm, as at least one US A-10 Thunderbolt II can be seen with its wheels partially submerged..It is not currently clear if any other aircraft suffered worse damage or if the flooding in this photo reached its highpoint. However, the presence of this much groundwater in the hangar undoubtedly will down this aircraft and the spaces for a prolonged period..The 25th Fighter Squadron is the only USAF unit that flies the A-10 Thunderbolt II from Osan Airbase, so this aircraft most likely belongs to that unit.
