By 0100 EST, the injury toll had increased to two persons with a man and a woman being hospitalized..The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs told state-owned media that an explosive device was found at the scene and an investigation was underway by 0130 EST..Initially, state-owned media and Russian-affiliated Telegram pages reported that Russian military unit 33790 89th satellite communications center deputy head Torgashov and his wife were the targets of the car bomb and that both had been injured. Multiple outlets reported this until around 0530 EST, when Torgashov publicly announced this was "fake news"..As of 0600 EST this morning, Bazabazon, a Russian-affiliated Telegram channel was reporting that those injured in the blast had the same name as the aforementioned commander and that news outlets had misidentified them. This misidentification was fueled by state-owned media reports from Moscow law enforcement.
