On July 19th, Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) Chief of Staff, Admiral Ryo Sakai, was replaced by Admiral Akira Saito. The repalcement comes after scandals that led to a rise in distrust among the Japanese public and the nation's defense forces.
